25th Annual Colonies of the Gulf Coast This is a family style event and everyone is welcome. The Fort’s museum and gift shop are always open. Come and explore life on ‘Isle Dauphine’ in the 1700-1800’s as a French, British and Spanish soldier. The soldiers will go through drills and fire the cannon. Dauphin Island Sunset Bridge Run
Dauphin Island Sunset Bridge Run Distance: Out and back certified 5K course that showcases the natural channel follow ed by the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. The bridge separates the Mississippi Sound on the west from Mobile Bay on the east. Participants will run/walk to the highest point of the bridge where the view is spectacular and then return to the Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo Site. We need your help: Park Service Day – Fort Gaines Calling all volunteers and supporters, on March 28 the Dauphin Island Park & Beach Board will help preserve Fort Gaines by hosting a Park Service Day. Fort Gaines is an important monument to honor the brave soldiers who fought and sacrificed in the American Civil War. Easter Sunrise Service
Community Easter Sunrise Service The Easter Sunrise Service will begin at 6:30 a.m. on the Great Lawn within the walls of Fort Gaines and it is open to everyone in the community. Free admission will be given to guests from 6 to 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday. Those would attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blanket. Alabama Ornithological Society’s spring and fall meetings are held on Dauphin Island, considered by many to be one of the top ten birding spots in the United States. This AOS event provides an exciting environment in which to advance one’s knowledge and enjoyment of ornithology.
