ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Orange Beach . . . and devoted “Parrot Heads” across the Gulf Coast . . the wait is over.
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will perform at The Amphitheater at The Wharf for one night only on Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m., as part of Jimmy Buffett’s “Workin’ n’ Playin’” Tour 2015.
Buffett last played on the Alabama coast in July of 2010 in a free “Concert for the Coast” to garner support for the area in the wake of the BP oil rig explosion and spill that soiled the area’s tourist season that year.
Local Parrotheads won’t want to miss their chance to soak in the full Margaritaville experience.
Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 27 fromTicketmaster.com, with an 8-ticket per customer limit.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band for the first time to The Amphitheater at The Wharf and kick off summer with Parrotheads from Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and all over the South,” Wharf owner Art Favre said.
“Jimmy Buffett is known for bringing the best outdoor party before and during his concerts and we can’t wait to welcome him to our island paradise.”
The Mobile native Buffett, and his Coral Reefer Band, have remained one of music’s most popular acts and personalities over the past four-pus decades.
His sister Lucy owns the popular LuLu’s restaurant and entertainment complex in Gulf Shores (AL), soon adding a new location in Destin (FL).
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Jimmy’s A1A album his first Top 40 record, which includes the hit, “A Pirate Looks At Forty”, a perennial concert favorite.
